We finally have a night time routine that works for all of us.  She is doing really well sleeping on her own.  I no longer nurse her in the middle of the night.  She nurses before bed time, falls asleep on her own, and for the most part stays that way all night long.  There are still nights when I have to get up to put the binky in, but I can ( Read more... )

Madeline is sick.  Again.  She has a cough and a little bit of a stuffy nose, but she's running a fever of 102.7 this afternoon.  Not so good.  I gave her tylenol and if the fever is still around tomorrow (or goes any higher) I'll call the doc.  Poor little bean.

I am making Maddie's baby food myself, instead of buying pre-made stuff in a jar.  So far she's eaten banana, squash, sweet potato, peas,  and carrots.  Of those things she eats all but the peas, so I'm actually trying them again this week in hopes she will expand her horizons.  We're also going to do apple, yam and potato soon.   She also eats ( Read more... )

Today was another good day.  House work was done Friday so I got to relax all weekend.  We did all go grocery shopping, but I kind of enjoy that.  Maddie and I went to a play group today for the first time in months, and had a really good time.  It was fun to see how much some of the other babies have grown and changed.  Then we napped, played, ( Read more... )

Yesterday was a great day!!  Madeline started eating food again on Thursday evening, so Thursday night she slept well.  Friday morning we got up, played, laughed, had fun, did lots of house work and chores, took naps, played some more.  She is finally back to her happy, agreeable self.  It is such a relief!  Today was a good day too.  And her ( Read more... )

Madeline is playing quietly on the futon with her toys.  It is so exciting to watch her focus on what she wants, attain it, and then contemplate it.  I could watch her for hours.

Yesterday afternoon I was feeling really crummy.  I chalked it up to grief and struggling with the anniversary of my dad's death.  I felt cold all afternoon and could not get warm, but it was chilly outside, so I figured I was just cold.  Turns out I was probably running a fever all afternoon.  Because I woke up with a fever of 100 and it kept ( Read more... )
